Clichés.
A small part of the reason I stopped following the Weight Watchers program was because it seemed mandatory to act like old, tired clichés were inspiring and/or true.
The worst one: “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.” Ugh. I cringe. Really? Because this pizza tastes pretty damn good, and I’ve never been thin so. . .Oh, and what if my goal isn’t “thin.” Write me another one, please.
Now there are some “sayings” out there that are awesome, such as this:

or this:
I want to hear what fitness/running/dieting/eating clichés you think are the worst. Or the best if you’re feeling all positive and shizz.
The one I don’t like, though it’s absolutely true? “No pain, no gain.” Dude, I know I have to go through this to get where I want, but lordy it hurts.
There have been some AWESOME ones I’ve gotten from friends lately. One of my favorites was one where the words “Good things come to those who wait” were crossed out, and underneath it said “Good things come to those who work their asses off and never give up.” I want to print this out and put it all over my apartment.
And my friend has been sending me some pretty sweet ones that are all being saved into my “Motivation” file. They’re awesome.
